Title 16 › Chapter 1— NATIONAL PARKS, MILITARY PARKS, MONUMENTS, AND SEASHORES › Subchapter LXXXV— SAWTOOTH NATIONAL RECREATION AREA › § 460aa
Creates the Sawtooth National Recreation Area to protect and preserve the area's natural, scenic, historic, pastoral, and fish and wildlife resources and to improve recreational opportunities. The recreation area, including the Sawtooth Wilderness Area, covers the lands shown on the map titled "Sawtooth National Recreation Area" dated June 1972, which is kept for public inspection in the office of the Chief, Forest Service, Department of Agriculture. The Secretary of Agriculture must, as soon as practicable after August 22, 1972, publish a detailed map and description of the area’s boundaries in the Federal Register.
