Title 16 › Chapter 1— NATIONAL PARKS, MILITARY PARKS, MONUMENTS, AND SEASHORES › Subchapter LXXXVIII— GLEN CANYON NATIONAL RECREATION AREA › § 460dd
Creates the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area for public outdoor recreation and to protect scenic, scientific, and historic features. It uses the boundary shown on the map “Boundary Map Glen Canyon National Recreation Area,” GLC–91,006 (August 1972), on file at the National Park Service. The Secretary may change the boundary by publishing a new map or description in the Federal Register, but the total area may not exceed 1,256,000 acres. The Secretary may also swap about 152 acres of private land for about 370 acres inside the area, as shown on map 608/60573a–2002 (May 16, 2002); after the exchange the boundary will be updated.
