Title 16 › CHAPTER 1 — NATIONAL PARKS, MILITARY PARKS, MONUMENTS, AND SEASHORES › SUBCHAPTER CXX — MORLEY NELSON SNAKE RIVER BIRDS OF PREY NATIONAL CONSERVATION AREA › § 460iii–2
Creates the Morley Nelson Snake River Birds of Prey National Conservation Area and requires it to be managed to protect and improve birds of prey, their habitats, and the natural, scientific, cultural, and educational values of the public lands. Uses of the public lands that existed on August 4, 1993 may continue, subject to other parts of the law. The area covers approximately 482,457 acres of federal land managed by the Bureau of Land Management, shown on a November 1991 map. The Secretary must file that map and a legal description with the House Committee on Natural Resources and the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources soon after August 4, 1993; the map is official, may be fixed for clerical errors, and will be available for public inspection at Interior and Idaho BLM offices. Subject to valid existing rights, these federal lands are withdrawn as of August 4, 1993 from most public land claims and from mining, mineral and geothermal leasing, and mineral material disposals (except limited mineral materials from existing sites when compatible).
