Defines the meanings of words used in this subchapter. Administrator — the head of the Environmental Protection Agency. Advisory Board — the Land Between the Lakes Advisory Board. Chairman — the chair of the Tennessee Valley Authority Board of Directors. Eligible employee — a person who, on the transfer date under section 460lll–41, was a full- or part-time annual TVA employee at the Recreation Area. Environmental law — Federal, State, and local laws and rules that protect people, natural and cultural resources, or the environment; it specifically includes the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act of 1980 (42 U.S.C. 9601 et seq.), the Solid Waste Disposal Act (42 U.S.C. 6901 et seq.), the Federal Water Pollution Control Act (33 U.S.C. 1251 et seq.), the Clean Air Act (42 U.S.C. 7401 et seq.), the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (7 U.S.C. 136 et seq.), the Toxic Substances Control Act (15 U.S.C. 2601 et seq.), the Safe Drinking Water Act (42 U.S.C. 300f et seq.), the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (42 U.S.C. 4321 et seq.), and the Endangered Species Act of 1973 (16 U.S.C. 1531 et seq.). Forest highway — as defined in section 101(a) of title 23. Governmental unit — a federal, state, or local agency, public or municipal corporation, local government unit, or part of a state university system. Hazardous substance; person; pollutant or contaminant; release; response action — each has the meaning given in section 101 of the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act of 1980 (42 U.S.C. 9601). Qualified resident or relative — a former resident of the Recreation Area or that resident’s spouse, or a widow, widower, or direct descendant of someone buried in a cemetery in the Recreation Area. Recreation Area — the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area. Secretary — the Secretary of Agriculture. State — the States of Kentucky and Tennessee.
