The U.S. Secretary of the Interior must run Lake Mead National Recreation Area so people can use and enjoy it while protecting its scenic, historic, scientific, and other important features. Management should keep and improve its recreation value as much as possible. The Secretary may allow activities like swimming, boating, camping, picnicking, grazing, mineral leasing, and vacation cabin sites. These uses must follow rules the Secretary sets and must not conflict with recreation or with parts set aside for reclamation.
