The Secretary may trade federal Bureau of Land Management land near Steens Mountain, Oregon, to Tom J. Davis Livestock, Inc. The United States would transfer about 5,340 acres of federal land in that area in exchange for private land the company gives. Tom J. Davis Livestock, Inc. must give a parcel of about 5,103 acres to be added to the Wilderness Area. After the swap is done, the Secretary may pay the company $800,000. The Secretary must finish transferring the federal land within 70 days after accepting the company’s land.
