§460nnn–52 Advisory Role in Management Activities

Summary

The advisory committee must use reliable science, existing federal land plans for the area, and other tools to make recommendations to the Secretary. Those recommendations can suggest new ways to manage the lands inside the Cooperative Management and Protection Area and propose cooperative programs and incentives that help manage the landscape, meet people’s needs, and protect or improve the area’s ecology and economy. The Secretary must consult the advisory committee when making and carrying out the management plan. The advisory council cannot send any recommendation to the Secretary unless at least nine council members agree.
