The Secretary must send Congress, no later than 2 years after December 6, 2000, a report that explains the best ways to protect lands north of the Acquisition Planning District — including parts of Rincon Valley, the Colossal Cave area, and the Agua Verde Creek corridor north of Interstate 10 — so they form an ecological connection to Saguaro National Park and the Rincon Mountains and support local conservation goals. The Secretary must also send Congress a report no later than 5 years after December 6, 2000, and again at least every 10 years after that. That report must say how this part of the law is being carried out, describe the condition of the Conservation Area’s resources and values, and report progress toward the purposes listed in section 460ooo–3(a).
