Title 16 › Chapter 1— NATIONAL PARKS, MILITARY PARKS, MONUMENTS, AND SEASHORES › Subchapter LXXVII— PICTURED ROCKS NATIONAL LAKESHORE › § 460s–3
Creates a Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore Advisory Commission that ends ten years after the lakeshore is established. The commission has five members who serve two-year terms. The Secretary appoints all members: two come from county recommendations, two from the Michigan Governor’s recommendations, and one is chosen by the Secretary. The Secretary must pick the chair and fill any vacancy the same way the original member was chosen. Members are unpaid, but the Secretary may pay reasonable expenses if the chair signs the bill. The Secretary or someone the Secretary picks must consult the commission from time to time about developing the lakeshore.
