Title 16 › Chapter 1— NATIONAL PARKS, MILITARY PARKS, MONUMENTS, AND SEASHORES › Subchapter LXXX— FLAMING GORGE NATIONAL RECREATION AREA › § 460v–1
The Secretary of Agriculture must manage, protect, and develop the recreation area under the same laws and rules that apply to national forests. Management must be coordinated with the other uses of the Colorado River storage project and should focus on public outdoor recreation, protecting scenic, scientific, historic, and similar values, and using resources in ways that fit the area’s purposes and do not significantly harm them. Any lands or waters needed for operating the Colorado River storage project stay under the control of the Secretary of the Interior as that Secretary decides is required.
