The Secretary can give Wisconsin technical help to plan and develop the reserve. The Secretary can also pay money for projects: up to 25% of each project's actual cost, with a total cap of $2,500,000. Under an agreement with Wisconsin, the Secretary may pay up to 50% of the yearly costs to manage, protect, maintain, and repair the reserve. If the Secretary finds the reserve is not being properly managed or required matching funds are not provided by the State or other non-Federal sources, the Secretary can stop contributions under sections 469d to 469i.
