§470dd Custody of Archaeological Resources

Summary

Allows the Secretary of the Interior to make rules letting suitable universities, museums, or similar scientific or educational institutions exchange archaeological items taken from public and Indian lands under this chapter. It also lets the Secretary decide the final handling or disposal of those items and of items taken under chapter 3125 or chapter 3203 of title 54.

Title 16, §470dd

The Secretary of the Interior may promulgate regulations providing for— (1)
(2)the ultimate disposition of such resources and other resources removed pursuant to chapter 3125 or chapter 3203 of title 54.
