Title 16 › Chapter 69— WILD EXOTIC BIRD CONSERVATION › § 4913
The Secretary must, if money is available, use the Exotic Bird Conservation Fund to give financial and technical help for projects that protect exotic birds in their native countries. Priority must be given to species that are under an import moratorium or quota under this law, to help those countries set up conservation programs, law enforcement, or both. The Exotic Bird Conservation Fund is a separate Treasury account. It holds penalties, fines, or forfeited property collected under this chapter after paying rewards under section 4912(c), donations for exotic bird conservation, and any amounts Congress provides. The Secretary must work with industry, conservation groups, the Convention Secretariat, and other national and international bodies to review voluntary labeling, certification of breeders and retailers, and privately funded technical help, and report the results to Congress within 2 years after October 23, 1992.
