Anyone or any transport company that accepts or carries animals, birds, or fish they know or reasonably believe were taken or killed illegally in the parks, or who breaks park rules or damages park property, must face the penalty set by law. The protection covers animals, plants, trees, buildings, fences, gates, gardens, springs, mineral deposits (except those legally claimed before the park was created), and other natural features. The penalties are those in section 3 of the Act of August 25, 1916 (Thirty-ninth Statutes, page 535), titled "An Act to establish a National Park Service, and for other purposes."
