Title 16 › Chapter 83A— CORAL REEF CONSERVATION, MANAGEMENT, AND ASSISTANCE › Subchapter I— UNITED STATES CORAL REEF TASK FORCE › § 6452
The Task Force must work with covered States, covered Native entities, federal and local reef managers, coral reef research centers (see section 6411(b)), and other partners to coordinate mapping, monitoring, research, and actions to protect, reduce harm to, and restore coral reefs. The Task Force must also watch and advise on implementation of Executive Order 13089 and the National Coral Reef Resilience Strategy, assess U.S. roles in international coral trade and protection, help other countries use good reef management, give technical help for the Strategy and coral reef action plans (section 6404), and send a yearly report to Congress and post it online. The report will rotate among covered States and include recent management and restoration work and updated estimates of the direct and indirect economic activity and other benefits from those reefs.
