§6455 Working Groups

Summary

Co-chairs of the Task Force can create working groups when needed to help meet the Task Force’s goals and do its work. Task Force members can ask the co-chairs to set up a working group. The co-chairs can let non-government groups join, such as colleges, conservation organizations, and commercial or recreational fishing groups. The Federal Advisory Committee Act (5 U.S.C. App.) does not apply to these working groups.

(a)The co-chairpersons of the Task Force may establish working groups as necessary to meet the goals and carry out the duties of the Task Force.
(b)The members of the Task Force may request that the co-chairpersons establish a working group under subsection (a).
(c)The co-chairpersons may allow nongovernmental organizations as appropriate, including academic institutions, conservation groups, and commercial and recreational fishing associations, to participate in a working group established under subsection (a).
(d)The Federal Advisory Committee Act (5 U.S.C. App.) 11 See References in Text note below. shall not apply to working groups established under this section.
