Title 16 › Chapter 87— FEDERAL LANDS RECREATION ENHANCEMENT › § 6805
Even though chapter 63 of title 31 might say otherwise, the Secretary may make fee management agreements or contracts that can include reasonable commissions, reimbursements, or discounts. Those deals can be with any government or non‑government group (including groups in a gateway community) to collect and process fees and run visitor reservations, to provide emergency medical care, and with government entities to provide law enforcement. A State or legal subdivision of a State that signs such an agreement may get a share of the revenue from the site. The Secretary must consider county proposals for these services and, if rejecting a county, must send a written notice explaining why. Agreements may also cover cooperative site planning and management.
