Title 16 › Chapter 87A— MODERNIZING ACCESS TO PUBLIC LAND › § 6854
Not later than 5 years after April 29, 2022, each Secretary must, as much as possible, put geographic data on their agency website (Interior, Forest Service, or Corps of Engineers) showing whether roads and trails on Federal land are open or closed, the seasonal closure dates, what kinds of vehicles and recreational uses are allowed on each road or trail segment (including off‑highway vehicles, motorcycles, nonmotorized and electric bicycles, passenger vehicles, nonmechanized travel, and over‑snow vehicles), and the boundaries of areas where hunting or shooting is limited or closed. The agencies must update this data at least twice a year and create a way for the public to send questions or comments about the information. They must not show details about historic, paleontological (fossil), or archaeological resources—such as what they are, where they are, their features, or who owns them—consistent with other laws.
