Title 16 › Chapter 6— GAME AND BIRD PRESERVES; PROTECTION › § 695a
The Secretary of the Interior may spend money and take steps, like buying options and paying for locating, examining, surveying, and getting clear title, to secure U.S. ownership of lands bought under sections 695 to 695c. No payment can be made until the Attorney General finds the title acceptable, and acquisitions won’t be stopped by rights‑of‑way, easements, exceptions, or reservations that the Secretary believes won’t interfere with the land’s intended use.
