§695n Leases of Lower Klamath and Tule Lake National Wildlife Refuge Reserved Lands; Management of Other Reserved Public Lands for Waterfowl Purposes

Summary

The Secretary must keep leasing certain reserved lands — the Klamath Straits unit, Southwest Sump, League of Nations unit, Henzel lease, and Frog Pond unit — inside the executive-order boundaries of the Lower Klamath and Tule Lake National Wildlife Refuges, as shown on plate 4 of the April 1956 report "Plan for Wildlife Use of Federal Lands in the Upper Klamath Basin, Oregon-California." Leases must be set to get the maximum lease revenues and must allow growing grain, forage, and soil‑building crops, with no more than 25% of leased land planted to row crops. Other reserved public lands listed in section 695l must keep being managed for waterfowl, including planting crops directly and using sharecropping agreements with local partners when needed.
