Title 16 › Chapter 6— GAME AND BIRD PRESERVES; PROTECTION › § 698i
The lands shown on the map in section 698f are the Big Cypress National Preserve. The Secretary must manage them as part of the National Park System to protect their natural and ecological integrity forever under sections 698f–698m–4 and the Act of August 25, 1916. The Secretary must write and publish rules in the Federal Register to limit uses of federal lands and waters, such as motor vehicles; oil, gas, and other mineral work; grazing; changing water flow; farming; hunting, fishing, and trapping; new construction; and other needed limits. The Secretary must work with the Secretary of Transportation so transportation stays in existing or reasonably expanded rights‑of‑way and is built to fit the preserve’s purposes.
