§698m–3 Status of Big Cypress National Preserve and Addition; Report to Congress; Plan

Summary

The Secretary must send Congress a detailed report and plan about Big Cypress National Preserve and the Addition no later than two years after April 29, 1988. The report must cover five things: the preserve’s condition and how past management worked plus future recommendations; how the public uses the preserve and the status of access points built under section 698m–2; whether other state or federal agencies should help; and the status of land acquisitions; and a joint decision with Florida on recreational access points on I‑75/Alligator Alley. That joint decision must use results from Florida Department of Transportation and other Florida agency studies. Any major change or new recreational access point the Secretary recommends must include an environmental impact assessment.
