Defines key words used for managing Pacific hake/whiting under the U.S.–Canada Agreement. Advisory panel is the group on Pacific hake/whiting created by the Agreement. Agreement is the pact between the United States and Canada about Pacific hake/whiting, signed in Seattle, Washington, on November 21, 2003. Catch is all removals from the offshore whiting resource, including landings, discards, and bycatch. Joint management committee and joint technical committee are the two committees created by the Agreement. Offshore whiting resource is the transboundary stock of Merluccius productus in offshore U.S. and Canadian waters, excluding Puget Sound and the Strait of Georgia. Scientific review group is the scientific group created by the Agreement. Secretary is the Secretary of Commerce. United States Section is the U.S. representatives on the joint management committee.
