Title 16 › Chapter 9— FISH AND WILDLIFE SERVICE › § 742g
The Secretary of the Interior must work with the Secretary of State so the United States has people at international fish and wildlife meetings and conferences; the Secretary of State will appoint someone from Interior to join U.S. delegations and negotiating teams. The State Department and officials who give technical or economic aid abroad must consult the Interior Secretary whenever fish and wildlife are involved. Even if other laws say otherwise, the Interior Secretary must join U.S. international negotiations under section 1351 of title 19 when fish products are directly affected, and must regularly consult federal agencies, nonprofits, and other groups about fish and wildlife problems.
