Title 16 › Chapter 9A— PRESERVATION OF FISHERY RESOURCES › § 758c
Authorizes money from the Treasury, as needed, to build and equip a fishery research laboratory and experiment stations in Hawaii, plus necessary substations, docks, and storehouses. The funds cover design work, furnishings, equipment, and the purchase, refit, and equipping of two experimental high-sea fishing vessels and one multipurpose high-seas fishing and oceanographic research vessel. No money may be used to buy land for the laboratory or stations in Hawaii. Up to three surplus government vessels may be transferred to the Secretary of Commerce, without payment, for conversion and use in ocean and biological research and exploratory fishing.
