Title 16 › Chapter 96— NORTH PACIFIC FISHERIES CONVENTION › § 7703
The Secretary of State can send and receive reports, requests, decisions, and other communications between the United States and the Commission. After talking with the Secretary, the Secretary of State may act on those communications, send them to the right authority, or—if the Secretary agrees and under the Convention—object to Commission decisions. The Secretary of State can also ask for and use help, staff, equipment, or facilities from other U.S. agencies, foreign governments, or international organizations, paid or unpaid, to carry out scientific research and other programs under this chapter.
