Title 16 › Chapter 96— NORTH PACIFIC FISHERIES CONVENTION › § 7707
The Secretary can work with other federal agencies, with public or private groups here or in other countries, and with foreign officials (through the Secretary of State) to carry out duties under this law. Federal agencies can help when the Secretary asks by doing research and by lending facilities and staff to support the Commission’s work under the North Pacific Fisheries Convention. The Secretary and the Commission may run or approve fishing trips and biological tests at any time for scientific study, and do other tasks the Convention requires. Nothing here changes a State’s authority in U.S. territorial waters.
