Title 16 › Chapter 101— NATIONAL FISH HABITAT CONSERVATION THROUGH PARTNERSHIPS › § 8201
Encourage groups and public agencies to work together to protect fish and their homes. The goal is to get real, measurable habitat improvements that lead to more and better fishing by improving ecosystems, restoring natural processes, and stopping healthy systems from declining. It also aims to create agreed national conservation plans to guide future work and funding. Grow local support by increasing fishing access, getting communities — especially young people — involved, and showing how healthy fish habitat helps people and local economies. Fill gaps in the national habitat study and database so actions are based on good science and include social and economic information. Share the partnerships’ results and new voluntary ways to protect fish habitat.
