The Board can allow floating cabins to stay on waters controlled by the Corporation if the cabins meet health, safety, and environmental rules set by the Board, the Corporation allows recreational boats on those waters, and the cabin was already there on December 16, 2016. Floating cabin — a boat or floating structure made mainly for people to live in or use, not mainly for moving on water. The Board may charge owners reasonable fees to make sure these rules are followed. If a cabin was on those waters on December 16, 2016, the Board may not force its removal for 15 years if it had a Corporation permit before that date, or for 5 years if it did not. The Board must let a cabin be used once it meets the rules and fees are paid. The Corporation can enforce standards and can make rules to stop new floating cabins.
