§838c Acquisition by Condemnation of Transmission Facilities

Summary

The Administrator must not use money provided under this law to take over an operating transmission line or facility by condemnation unless Congress specifically allows it or Congress has set aside money for that purpose. The Administrator can still condemn land or rights needed just to cross a transmission facility. At least 60 days before sending Congress any request for approval or authority under these rules, the Administrator must tell entities in the Pacific Northwest that have power or transmission contracts with the Administrator or that are connected to the Federal transmission system.
