Defines key words used in this subchapter about outdoor recreation and accessibility. Accessible trail is a trail that meets the Architectural Barriers Act accessibility guidelines. Architectural Barriers Act accessibility guidelines are the rules in appendices C and D to part 1191 of title 36, Code of Federal Regulations (or successor regulations). Assistive technology is any item or equipment used to help people with disabilities do more, especially to take part in outdoor recreation. Gold Star Family member is the person described in section 3.3 of Department of Defense Instruction 1348.36. Outdoor constructed feature is defined in appendix C to part 1191 of title 36, Code of Federal Regulations (or successor regulations). Veterans organization is a service provider with outdoor recreation experience that serves members of the Armed Forces, veterans, or Gold Star Family members.
