Title 16 › Chapter 103— EXPANDING PUBLIC LANDS OUTDOOR RECREATION EXPERIENCES › Subchapter II— ACCESS AMERICA › Part A— Access for People With Disabilities › § 8481
Within 5 years after January 4, 2025, the Secretary in charge must do a full review of outdoor recreation sites on the federal lands and waters they manage to see how accessible they are under the Architectural Barriers Act of 1968 and section 794 of title 29. The review must cover things like camp shelters and camping units, boat launch ramps, hunting/fishing/shooting/archery areas, built outdoor features, picnic areas, and other outdoor recreation facilities the Secretary chooses. The Secretary must also put information about these accessibility opportunities on public websites for each federal land management agency and for each of their units and subunits, using easy-to-find links. The Secretary may use assessments or data made before January 4, 2025, when practical. Within 7 years after January 4, 2025, the Secretary must identify chances to create, update, or replace signs and other public information, including web pages, about accessibility at the sites covered by the review, following the same accessibility laws.
