Title 16 › Chapter 103— EXPANDING PUBLIC LANDS OUTDOOR RECREATION EXPERIENCES › Subchapter II— ACCESS AMERICA › Part A— Access for People With Disabilities › § 8483
Within two years after January 4, 2025, the Secretary must start a pilot program that teams up with eligible groups to do three things: measure high‑priority trails for the assessment called for in section 8482, build accessible trails under section 8484, and make small changes to existing trails to improve use by people with disabilities who use assistive technology. Work must follow land‑use plans and include input from stakeholders, like veterans groups and organizations that run outdoor programs for people with disabilities. The Secretary must pick at least five units or subunits to take part. The pilot must include at least one site managed by the National Park Service, one by the Bureau of Land Management, and one by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The program ends 7 years after January 4, 2025.
