Not later than 2 years after January 4, 2025, the Secretary in charge must create educational and public-awareness materials, working with the Secretary of Veterans Affairs and the Secretary of Defense. The materials must be given to service members and veterans, including during Transition Assistance Program preseparation counseling. The information must cover eight topics: free use of federal lands and waters; where to find accessible trails and recreation (including new projects); help with assistive technology; outdoor volunteer and wellness programs; how outdoor recreation helps physical and mental health; resources for guided trips and related programs from federal agencies; and job or continuing-service programs such as Public Land Corps, AmeriCorps, and conservation corps.
