Title 16 › Chapter 14— REGULATION OF WHALING › Subchapter II— WHALING CONVENTION ACT › § 916e
If a court finds someone failed to make, keep, or give required catch returns, statistical records, or reports, or gave false ones, that person can be fined up to $500. The person is also banned from whaling, processing, or having whales or whale products from the date of the guilty finding until they submit the missing records or replace false ones with a certified, correct version the court accepts. Other penalties in the law will not be used for these record-keeping failures.
