Title 16 › Chapter 15A— GREAT LAKES FISHERIES › § 933
The United States Section must set up an advisory committee for each Great Lake. Each State that borders a lake can have up to four people on that lake’s committee, chosen from a list the State’s Governor sends. The Section should consider state fishery agencies, commercial and sport fishing, and the public when picking members. A person can serve on committees for more than one lake. Members are not paid for their service. Up to ten members total may get travel and daily-expense reimbursement for the annual Commission or United States Section meeting, if the committees pick them and the United States Section approves. Committee members must be invited to all nonexecutive United States Section meetings about their lake and can review and speak about proposed recommendations, programs, and activities for that lake.
