Title 16 › Chapter 15C— GREAT LAKES FISH AND WILDLIFE TISSUE BANK › § 943
The Secretary must organize existing labs and storage sites into a "Great Lakes Fish and Wildlife Tissue Bank" to hold tissue samples from certain Great Lakes fish and wildlife. After talking with federal and state agencies, the Council of Great Lakes Research Managers, and giving the public a chance to comment, the Secretary must issue guidance on collecting, preparing, storing, checking quality, and sharing samples. The rules must make methods consistent, require records of how samples were handled, and ensure the tissues are used properly for scientific research.
