Title 18 › Part I— CRIMES › Chapter 53— INDIANS › § 1165
It makes it a crime to go on certain Indian lands without legal permission, on purpose, to hunt, trap, fish, or take animals, fish, or furs. The rule covers lands owned by an Indian tribe or person that the United States holds in trust or won’t allow to be sold, and also U.S. lands set aside for Indian use. If someone breaks this, they can be fined under federal law, jailed for up to 90 days, or both, and any animals, fish, or furs they have will be taken away.
