A federal officer or employee who must file the immediate-supervisor reports under the federal employees’ compensation rules, and who on purpose fails to file them, files a false report, pressures an injured worker not to file a claim for compensation or benefits, or keeps required notices or papers instead of sending them, can be punished. The punishment can be a fine under federal law, up to one year in jail, or both.
