Punishes crew members who try to start a revolt or mutiny on a U.S. ship on the high seas or in waters under U.S. maritime control. It also covers plotting with others, urging crew to disobey officers, refusing duties, betraying trust, joining a mutinous riot, or unlawfully detaining the captain. The punishment can be a federal fine, imprisonment for up to five years, or both.
