Title 18 › Part I— CRIMES › Chapter 115— TREASON, SEDITION, AND SUBVERSIVE ACTIVITIES › § 2381
Anyone who owes loyalty to the United States and either starts a war against it or helps its enemies by giving them help or support, inside or outside the country, commits treason. If found guilty, the person can be put to death, or must serve at least five years in prison and pay a fine of at least $10,000, and cannot hold any office under the United States.
