Chief pretrial services officers in districts with pretrial programs, and chief probation officers in other districts, must send an annual report to the district’s chief judge and must give case files, statistics, and other information about pretrial work to the Director. The Director must include a report on pretrial services for the previous year in the Director’s annual report to the Judicial Conference under section 604 of title 28.
