Title 18 › PART II — CRIMINAL PROCEDURE › CHAPTER 211 — JURISDICTION AND VENUE › § 3234
Lets a federal criminal case be moved so a person arrested in one district can plead guilty, be sentenced, or otherwise finish the case in another district. Both the defendant and the prosecutors must agree, and the judges in the two districts must approve. The court that sends the case must send all papers, including a certified copy of the arrest papers and any bail records, to the court that will handle the plea or sentence. The receiving court then proceeds as if the case started there and, when finished, returns the records.
