§3364 Joinder of Defendants—(rule)

Title 18 › PART II — CRIMINAL PROCEDURE › CHAPTER 217 — INDICTMENT AND INFORMATION › § 3364

Last updated Aug 21, 2026|Official source

Summary

Allows more than one person to be charged together when they are accused of taking part in the same act, the same series of acts, or the same plan. That means one charge can name multiple defendants when their alleged crimes are connected. If putting people in the same case would be unfair to a defendant, the judge can order separate trials or other steps to protect a fair trial. The judge chooses what relief is needed.
