Summary

Sets the rules for picking and replacing jurors. The judge can let the lawyers ask questions of people who might serve on the jury. The judge can also limit the number or type of questions to keep things fair and quick. Lawyers can ask the judge to remove a person who cannot be fair. Gives lawyers a limited number of peremptory strikes to remove jurors without saying why. Allows the court to seat alternate jurors to take the place of regular jurors who become unable to serve. Alternates stay available through the trial and are not sent away until the jury finishes unless the judge says otherwise.
