Title 18 › PART II — CRIMINAL PROCEDURE › CHAPTER 223 — WITNESSES AND EVIDENCE › § 3499
Gives the court the power to punish someone who was properly served with a subpoena and then fails to obey it without a good excuse. If a person doesn't bring the papers, records, objects, or allow inspection that the subpoena called for, the court can treat that refusal as contempt and take steps to punish or force compliance.
