A U.S. district court must not bar a crime victim from a defendant’s trial just because the victim might later speak at sentencing or testify about the crime’s effect on them or their family, or about matters that require notice under section 3593(a). "Victim" means the people named in section 503(e)(2) of the Victims’ Rights and Restitution Act of 1990.
