Title 18 › Part III— PRISONS AND PRISONERS › Chapter 306— TRANSFER TO OR FROM FOREIGN COUNTRIES › § 4104
Before an offender on probation is transferred into the United States, the Attorney General must make sure a U.S. district court will take over supervision. After the offender arrives, the Attorney General must bring them before that court. The court assigns a probation officer and sets rules like if it had sentenced the person. Probation can be ended under section 3565 and the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure, and any suspended sentence must then be carried out. Sections 4105 and 4106 apply after revocation. Before sending a probationer out of the United States, the Attorney General must get the court’s assent.
