§4130 Additional Markets

Summary

Federal Prison Industries can sell products to public entities for use in penal or correctional institutions, for disaster relief or emergency response, to the government of the District of Columbia, and to organizations described in 501(c)(3), (c)(4), or (d) that are tax-exempt under section 501(a) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986. It may not sell office furniture to those tax-exempt organizations. Office furniture — items or services for furnishing workplaces (office, healthcare, educational, hospitality). Public entity — a State, a subdivision of a State, an Indian tribe, or an agency or government corporation of one of those. State — includes the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, the Northern Mariana Islands, and the United States Virgin Islands.
