Any U.S. judge or magistrate judge can order the U.S. Marshal to provide travel so a person can get to a required court if the judge finds, after asking questions, that the person cannot afford the trip and that helping them serves the interests of justice. The marshal must pay these costs from funds the Attorney General has approved.
